Steam Soft Tofu. Steamed tofu with a savory soy sauce garlic dressing. As one of the most popular and humble Chinese ingredients, we eat tofu around the year. It is one of the best ingredients for a simple tofu salad in hot summer days or can be used in hot stews and soups in winter.
It was comforting and I could actually taste the flavor of the sauce and swallow it down. I emptied out the dish with some rice and it certainly made me feel a little better. Soft tofu, aka silken tofu (연두부, yeon-dubu) doesn't have much flavor itself. You can cook Steam Soft Tofu using 3 ingredients and 2 steps. Here is how you cook that.
Ingredients of Steam Soft Tofu
- It's 2 package of soft tofu.
- Prepare 1 stalk of spring onion.
- It's Half of bowl ground pork.
Which means you can add any flavor. This easy steamed tofu is my go-to recipe when I am in a hurry to prepare a quick dish for lunch/dinner. It only needs very basic ingredients, like garlic, scallions, and two kinds of soy sauce. I've been eating quite a lot of steamed silky soft tofu lately and am itching to make one myself.
Steam Soft Tofu step by step
- Marinate ground beef with a little flour and soy sauce mix properly. Then stir fry until done.
- Heat wok with water and let it boil. Steam tofu for 5 mins. When done pour the cooked pork on top.
Just so happened my mom have a tofu recipe book. Weheee and one of them are steamed silky soft tofu! I made some changes to the recipe as I wanted to make the most basic steamed tofu which doesn't involve ingredients like meat floss. Silken tofu is best steamed or added to soups while firm tofu is used in stir-fries and braised dishes. I absolutely love tofu and incorporate it in some form or other in my daily cooking.
